Philipp Lahm expected German captain
A newspaper said on Thursday that Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm has appointed German captain in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa from the June-11 to July11. He will replace injured Chelsea star Michael Ballack. Michael Ballack pulled him out last week due to his ankle injury suffered in a severe tackle by Portsmouth’s Ghanaian Kevin-Prince Boateng in FA cup final. German coach Joachim Loew will address a press conference on Friday when he is likely to name Philipp Lahm as captain. Loew also in the favour of Schalke’s Manual Neuer as Germany first choice goalkeeper , while Rene Adler was force to pulled out with a rib injury in April. Germany will play a friendly match against Hungary on Saturday.
